I have one small word of advice and one large disclaimer.

Disclaimer: I don't own and have only fired a 995 on few occasions.

That said, I'm of the opinion that if there is any sort of malfunctioning of the gun whatsoever...it's the mags. That would be the first place to start looking anyway. I've rarely heard anyone except Verkalak say they have had any real mechanical issues with one although my CSR is selective at times. :?

The carbines don't thrill me for some reason although I will own one someday if an extremely good deal falls in my lap (doubtful since I don't have any social life).

Just because you are unnatural, bizarre, bring problems on yourself, and don't fit in does not mean I dislike you...well, yeah it does

I understand what you mean. That's kind of how I feel about the AR15. I understand its value, I respect the firearm for what it does (and have fired the M16 and the AR15 on many occasions). It is an excellent, well designed weapon, but I just don't love them. They don't have 'spirit' to me. The 995 speaks to me in a very primitive way ... I joined a range just to shoot it hehehe ... it is comfortable and, having taken it apart and put it back together, it is familiar to me. I can't wait to shoot a thousand rounds through it ...

Welcome to the forum. I'm new here as well. Only had my 995TS for about 3 weeks, and I am having a lot of fun with it.
I've never seen a chrome version. Anyone here got a picture they can post?
Thanks,
Donnie D

:welcome: from the Texas hill country. I love my 995 TS. The only thing I did to mine was polish the feed ramp for better feeding of ammo. And I never use non Hi-Point mags. I think you will love yours. I never see any used HiPoints for sale. They are keepers.
