Took the red dot 995 to the range last week. As to velocity, I have shot 9mm pistols in that range a lot. I never heard the FMJ rounds slap the back wall like a sledge hammer before. The 995 was whacking the trap, hard. And, the same ammo in my sr9 did the job on the target but once again there was no sound of the bullet hitting the traps. I would guess there is a lot more velocity. I also found the 995 to be quite a tack driver. I think I was at about 60 ft. It was as far away as I could see the 1" bullseye. I had groups that would be covered by a nickel, sitting on a stool with the gun resting on a bag. For a 60 year old with the begining of cataracts, I believe the red dot passed with flying colors.

I bought the Tru Glo red dot sight for my 4595 off of Hi-Point and I love it, Very consistent Bull patterns from 25 , 50 and 75 yards , as soon as i figure out how to put a rail on my apegun I am either putting it on it and then mounting my 4 x 30 scope on my 4595 or vice versa , One of them just sits in a box so I need to figure out how it mounts on a gun without weaver or picatinny rails ??

If you call mom, they will send you the rail that fits on the ape gun, for free. You remove the irons, and use the same bolts to hold the rail on. Easiest way is to take the receiver cover off first, as there are small plates inside that are threaded to hold the bolts, and as I found out by personal experience, they fall inside as you remove the irons.

You can see the rail under the scope in this pic.

Yep, If you are going to remove the iron site, please save yourself a lot of aspirin and remove the shroud to do it.

I don't believe I removed the shroud when I took off the rear sight off of my 995TS. Did I do wrong?

TTBMK TS has the rail already ubder the sight, and the irons are attached to it. Different idea than the ape guns.

To just remove the rear site you can just remove the elevation screw and the other 3 screws. Now to remove the top rail (4 small screws under the rear site) remove the shroud is the way to go.
