I did pretty much everything to it, its a 1998-99 Model "C" compensated smooth slide:

1. Sanded feed ramp, slide, compensator and trigger assembly.
2. Installed New C9 trigger, firing pin/springs, rear sight.
3. Removed magazine safety, installed Hogue grip
4. Added a Centerpoint Laser
5. Used about ten rounds of solvents on the barrel.
6. Four coatings of Krylon Superbond Black Gloss.
7. Three new magazine exchanges.

Still got more new parts on the way, new safety lever, and recoil spring. Only paid about $50 total for the laser, paint, sand paper, and Hogue grip.

Certainly different than the usual polish that so many folks do.

I wonder if I can chrome my JCP?

My favorite color on sports cars is Black Gloss(Corvette), so I didnt hesitate grabbing that color with the primer already mixed in the paint.

It would be very expensive you have it Chrome dipped, Ive never heard or seen anyone actually do it. They usually end up just sanding the slide down to bare metal, not my cup of tea. Its been discussed numerous on the forums but no ones actually done it yet.

Thank you, it didn't take but a few hours to fix it up like that once I got the new parts in the mail. Ive been using ZQ1 123 grain NATO rounds for $13.92 at Wal-Mart and runs very well with them.

Just admiring my handy work.....I have to say this is one of my best restoration. That and Chrome-dome, I couldn't of done it without the free parts from MOM though, Hi Point has the best customer service hands-down.

I have heard of folks doing real powder coating to just slide. Looks nice now though!

With the fixed barrel they are beyond accurate

The compensator helps alot as far as accuracy. With the extra weight at the end of the barrel and horizontal expansion of gases, muzzle flip is non-existent.
